Before this room became James's room, it was an art studio catch-all where paint was splattered all over the carpet and wall (I hung my canvases on the wall instead of an easel), junk from college all over the floor, and hand-me-down furniture scattered around. We, needless to say, did a few things to get ready for baby, as parents-to-be do. I knew I wanted James's room to be as classic and timeless as possible with no "theme" per say, although if you ask Michael he'd call the theme "Bunnies and Boats." We incorporated many special family items, including the dresser my dad made for me when I was born and Michael's childhood toys, and chose a couple Facebook Marketplace pieces and new items, too. I also wanted the design to easily transition with him through the years (think about adding red in here!). It has been the sweetest thing to watch him grasp at the boats when I pick him up from his nap, feed him in the wee hours of the morning, and watch him play in the room we worked to create for him.
